Hotel Description

After an exhaustive $150 million renovation, Liberty Hotel becomes Boston's newest luxury offering. Liberty Hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Boston's Beacon Hill neighborhood near the world's best medical complexes. The Hotel is just a footbridge away from the Charles River and its Esplanade, offering easy access to a wealth of outdoor recreation, boutique shopping, entertainment and downtown Boston. The original 1851 granite jail structure, a national historic landmark, was carefully preserved and restored. The Hotel is comprised of 298 guestrooms, including 10 incomparable suites with dramatic river views; three distinctive venues for dining and cocktails; 6,000 sq. ft. of meeting space located within the original, historic structure; and an adjacent, newly-constructed 16-story "tower". Among the amenities and services guests enjoy are four-fixture baths, in-room flat panel HD-LCD televisions, private bars, high speed wireless (WI-FI) and scalable fiber connection access, VOIP telephones operating on a fully converged digital network, 24-hour private dining, health and fitness center, and business services.

Faneuil Hall Market Place In the heart of Boston, Faneuil Hall Marketplace is adjacent to historic Faneuil Hall and is bordered by the financial district, the waterfront, the North End, Government Center and Haymarket. It is a well-traveled part of Boston's "Freedom Trail." The Marketplace is a five-minute walk to the New England Aquarium, The Children's Museum, The Old State House, and Paul Revere's House. Other attractions that are between 7-15 minutes away include The New State House, The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston Public Garden, Old North Church, The USS Constitution, and Fenway Park.
New England Aquarium On June 20, 1969 the New England Aquarium opened its doors to the public for the first time. The Aquarium was designed with the intention of providing an underwater experience for the visitor and of being a cultural institution that would reconnect Boston to its waterfront. In its more than 30 years of existence the Aquarium has grown a lot. We have developed several programs in order to help preserve and bring a better understanding of marine life and our exhibits have been under constant expansion and renovation. From the Giant Ocean Tank, opened in 1970 that was, at the time, the largest circular, salt water tank in the world to the new Matthew and Marcia Simons IMAX, the only 3D theatre in Boston, opened in December 2001. The Aquarium continues its tradition to serve as a leader in research, education and conservation. The leadership of John Prescott, who served as Executive Director from 1972-1994, Jerry Schubel, from 1994-2001, and today, Ed Toomey, continues to move the Aquarium to the forefront of these issues.
Boston Common and Boston Garden The starting point of the Freedom Trail. The Boston Common is known to be one of the oldest public parks in the country. The park is almost 50 acres in size. Today, Boston Common is the anchor for the Emerald Necklace, a system of connected parks that winds through many of Boston's neighborhoods. The "Common" has been used for many different purposes throughout its long history. Until 1830, cattle grazed the Common, and until 1817, public hangings took place here. British troops camped on Boston Common prior to the Revolution and left from here to face colonial resistance at Lexington and Concord in April, 1775.
Beacon Hill Beacon Hill is a 19th-century downtown Boston residential neighborhood situated directly north of the Boston Common and the Boston Public Garden. Most people think of city living as anonymous and isolating. But this cozy enclave, filled with nearly 10,000 people, is more like a village than an anonymous city. It has a rich community life, with neighbors knowing neighbors and everyone meeting on the Hill's commercial streets and at its myriad activities. The land area of Beacon Hill is small?it is only about 20 percent larger than the Boston Common and the Boston Public Garden combined. It is bounded by Beacon Street, Bowdoin Street, Cambridge Street and Storrow Drive. It is known for its beautiful doors and door surrounds, brass door knockers, decorative iron work, brick sidewalks, perpetually-burning gas lights, flowering pear trees, window boxes, and hidden gardens. Its architecture, mostly brick row houses, includes the Federal, Greek Revival and Victorian periods, as well as early 20th-century colonial revival homes and tenements. The architecture is protected by restrictive regulations that allow no changes to any visible part of a structure without the approval of an architectural commission.
