It is also the home of the "Texas outdoor musical drama. There are also many tourist attractions within walking distance, including the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum, which is one of the largest historical museums in the state of Texas. West Texas A&M University is located within one block of the hotel. The WTAMU Event Center is located within two blocks of the hotel. Two eighteen hole golf courses within 10 miles. Amarillo, Texas is approximately 18 miles offering American Quarter Horse Museum, Cadillac Ranch, PRCA Rodeo, Ranch Rodeo, Wonderland Park, Discovery Center, Splash Water Park, Sports World and major shopping malls. Friendliness of staff.
N/AWe evacuated from hurricane Ike and ended up in Canyon, TX. The staff graciously gave us a free room upgrade from a single room to a suite. It was such a relief after a week at home without electricity!

The rooms were amazingly clean and fresh smelling.The hot tub and swimming pool and pop machines were out of order during our stay.Rooms are excellent and location is very convenient. However, my daughter and I dressed in out suits and went all the way to the swimming pool to find it was out of order. That information should have been given by the staff at check-in. The freshly-baked cookie aroma that filled the lobby as we entered and the delicious cookies.Access to the pool is through the breakfast room, so I skipped my early morning swim.The staff was real West Texas friendly. The room was clean and orderly, and the environmentally-sound practices were a welcome change. The linens' both bed and bath' were especially nice for a hotel in this tier.

Staff was friendly and the room was big.One should know that it's in a dry county. Price was a little too high.Excellent location for visiting Palo Duro Canyon. Dining in the area is a challenge because the offer is limited and the hotel is in a dry county.
