The architectural grandeur of a bygone era comes alive at the Hotel Burnham: a Four-Star luxury boutique hotel in the heart of Chicago's famous Loop. Located on Historic State Street the Hotel Burnham projects an atmosphere of the historical and whimsy decorated to the hotels theme of romance. Completed in 1895 as the Reliance Building it was one of the first steel framed skyscrapers in the world. Dark finished mahogany wood, rich colored leathers and silk drapery unite to recreate the men's club atmosphere that once occupied this space. Tumbled stone flooring in the entry lobby complement the restored stone floor used in the original lobby. Swans, mating for life, swim in the corridor carpet design of our guestroom floors. Expansive windows featuring incredible views of downtown Chicago are draped in handsome blue velvet and tie back panels with samplings of Mozart's symphonies.The lobby's details can all be admired from the "Living Room", where overstuffed leather couches and mohair chairs invite guests to stay and relax. The property is situated on State Street in the heart of the new Theater district and is across the street from Macy's, a block from Millennium Park convenient to North Michigan Avenue (the Magnificent Mile) and the "Loop" business district. Minutes walk from Millennium Park, city hall, the merchandise mart, AON building, Chicago tribune tower, NBC tower, the Wrigley building, the Chicago merchandise exchange, board of trade and Sears Tower, as well as world-renowned nightlife and dining establishments. The hotel has access to public transportation, which can be used to easily reach O'Hare or Midway airports. Hotel Burnham is also a quick and easy cab ride to McCormick place, Lakeside Center, Museum Campus and Navy Pier.Historic Hotel Burnham is 17 miles from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport and 11 miles from Midway Airport.
I thought the room was a little small - but I would love to stay there again for location.

The hotel went out of it's way to accommodate us and was very friendly.... This hotel was great I would highly recommend it to anyone.
