Restaurants
Restaurants: Intermezzo - Fine Italian dining. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out on tiny Harmonie Park, and just around the corner lays the burgeoning theater district crowned by the Detroit Opera House and the Gem Theatre. The Whitney - The atmosphere is fantastic, elegant yet comfortable. The cuisine is among the best in the metro area. The Whitney is always a first pick for a romantic evening, especially with the Opera House nearby. It is no wonder this restaurant is at the top of everyone's list. Union Street - During the day, students and faculty frequent here. However, during the evening, theatre patrons and others in search of culture are the norm. An Art Deco style and worn hardwood floors inside hint to the rich history of the building. Traffic Jam and Snug Restaurant - The crowd is as eclectic as the menu, with before-and-after-theater business a mainstay. Serving American and fake French cuisine.

The bed & breakfast atmosphere with the hotel quality.
Thin doors to the hallways. The hotel is quaint and the staff extremely friendly. The rooms are nicely appointed and very clean. The neighborhood right outside the hotel is okay but a few blocks away looked a little sketchy. Overall the hotel was wonderful and I highly recommend it.

Didn't really like the area it was in. The staff was very friendly. We liked the free shuttle service they had. We had no problems. We were very comfortable. There wasn't a lot of noise and we weren't bothered.

The staff was very patient with our numerous complaints and tried to help us.
The pillow shams stunk terribly. Room was not at all what we expected. The staff was great, except housekeeping. I think they got an attitude when I complained about the pillows stinking so bad. It seems they retaliated by cranking the heat to 90 degrees, not giving us fresh glasses (just turned the old ones over) and not re...Read More

Style, service, and friendliness.
The area around it is a little shady although we felt very safe. A beautifully restored home - and a cut above a good bed & breakfast. The staff was courteous and super-friendly and their shuttle service went beyond the call of duty on New Year's Eve. A delightful place and experience.

Small, quaint, bed and breakfast feel, unique.
It was an old home so you could hear. Squeaking on the stairs as people came and went. Very close to Downtown, convenient, clean, and quaint. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
