Enjoy a complimentary full hot breakfast every morning. Take a swim in our sparkling, indoor pool. The name of Great Bend comes from its location on the big bend in the Arkansas River. Numerous Native American tribes were drawn to the area by the river, large herds of bison, and huge marshland rich in wildlife. The first great American trade route - the Santa Fe Trail - ran right through the town*s present-day Courthouse Square, making Great Bend a historic crossroads for settlers on the prairie. Over the years, Great Bend became a center for the Kansas oil industry, a training ground for B-29 crews during World War II, and continues to reign as a center of commerce and recreation in central Kansas.

Overall Rating:
The staff was wonderful. They made the stay excellent.
Getting very aged. Area quite run down.The quality of all the staff members very much make up for an aging hotel with little curb appeal. They go out of their way to accommodate even the smallest of requests. Amazingly wonderful people.

Clean.The bed was very hard.The building was in good repair with friendly staff. The room was clean and roomy. The bed was very hard. I�ve camped on softer ground. I would probably try another hotel next time I stay in great bend.
