Yumura Onsen has a history of more than 1150 years. It is known for having the hottest and largest amount of water in Japan and you can even make boiled eggs using this water. It is also well known as the setting for a popular Japanese drama. At night/ you might want to go out for a walk because the city has a fantastic atmosphere and is lit up with rainbow colors. There are places where you can enjoy a hot spring footbath/ and also public hot spring bathhouses. The water is said to be good for nerve pain/ muscle ache/ arthritis/ dermatitis and promoting beautiful skin. 20min by bus from JR Sanin Line Hamasaka Station.
