Excellent location within five minutes of the Theater District. Rooms are tiny, even by New York standards. We were told that the bed was queen size, but seemed to be smaller. Room was not particularly clean.

Its history and atmosphere and location.
The room was a bit noisy.
The Algonquin is a fabulous historic hotel full of atmosphere and ghosts of literary past. Check out the wall paper in the hallways.

Leaving it.
Cramped, inflexible.
The bathroom door did not close, and if it did, you could get stuck in the bathroom. The rooms are tiny. The key system was not working and had to have a hotel person open the room door. The front desk was inflexible in offering solutions.
