Hotel Description:

Hotel Aitana is a restored XVIIth Century building arranged around an interior patio with Oaxacan columns and fountains made from the green stone typical of the region. Its charm, personality and cosmopolitan ambiance delight those people who avoid staying in larger, more standardized and impersonal hotels. From the hotels terrace, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city, which is nestled in a valley and surrounded by the Sierra Madre mountains. Each of its 23 rooms, all gracefully decorated in warm colors, has all modern amenities. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the magnificent Santo Domingo Convent on the charming walking street, Macedonio Alcala and only a few blocks to the Zscalo, a cheery meeting place for both Oaxacans and international travelers.

Hotel Aitana was very quiet, no street noise as our room was back from the street. Nice managers. Free internet. Pretty courtyard. Nice rooftop!
It would have been nice to be closer to the Zocalo, but we could walk or take a cheap taxi. And it was so quiet.

The hotel was charming. The hotel maids, cooks, waitresses were very friendly and warm. The front desk staff was less friendly and helpful.
The hotel is on a very busy street and not as centrally located as I thought.
Very friendly staff. The breakfasts were excellent. The rooms are very charming. The shower/tub areas, however, were old and in need of updating.

Great location and friendly staff.
A little bit old, maybe not the best place in summer.
It is a good place to spend the night, good recommendation if you plan on visiting the city not the hotel.
