The Morteratsch is situated very quiet, 5 km outside Pontresina, and lies at the foot of the Bernina Alps. Starting-point for hiking and mountain climbing as well as stopover for cross-country and alpine skiers. Railway stop just opposite the hotel entrance (legendary Bernina Express).
