Special Condition Updated Transient Occupancy Tax We want to make you aware of a new assessment that will become effective January 1, 2008. Last month the San Diego Hotel and Motel Association members voted to approve a marketing assessment of 2% at all hotels in the city of San Diego with more than 70 guest rooms. The “TMD” (Tourism Marketing District) fee will be posted on all guest room folios as additional assessment over and above the Transient Occupancy Tax (currently 10.565%).'
