The hotel and the room met or exceeded my expectations, nonetheless. The location was poor.
The location of the hotel was quite poor and at times, scary.
Great hotel for the price and the room was magnificent. The location of the hotel was downright scary for a business traveler into San Francisco.

Great architecture in lobby, European style, wine in evening, clean.
Small rooms, bad location.
Nice lobby, wine in evening in mezzanine was nice touch. Rooms are clean but small. Hotel location is one drawback. It is a good value for tech city but, not in the greatest area in San Francisco.

Cool reception with a water cascade behind reception and contemporary styling
Surrounded by homeless people, the exterior of this hotel smelt of urine and felt a little dodgy - although it was safe enough.
Decor was terrific. Service was great. Pleasant surprise. 
The neighborhood could be considered sketchy by some.
