The reception was nice, and the staff was receptive.
Parking cost me an additional $40, and the clerk was rude about collecting it.The hotel has a nice/cozy bar and welcomes its guest with a wine reception after 5pm. The staff and the exceptional service I received, as well as the complimentary wine every night!Rooms were a little on the small side, however the hotel staff upgraded us to larger room for no additional fee.This hotel is very classy, warm, inviting, comfortable and quaint! Exceptional staff, everyone! I've never been disappointed, but this was absolutely the best service, I've experienced yet.

The nicest hotel staff, bar none.Poor room conditions, no AC, old bedding.There are better choices for hotels in the boutique category in s.f.o. although the staff was excellent, the hotel's decor and room furnishings were lacking quality.

Very cozy, great staff and bar.Not every room is equipped with AC.Very cozy and convenient hotel. The Rex has a very boutique feel to it. The staff is friendly and helpful. The bar is also very cozy, with friendly bartenders and a daily complimentary glass of wine which is a nice bonus!

I was very close to where we wanted to be in the city.The room was very small, they charged us $40 a day to park our car.I liked the hotels location but the amenities did not match up with the price. And I was not told that I would be charged $40.00 a day for parking until I checked out, (not good).

I loved the decor of old San Francisco literary society. Very imaginative.The room was a bit dark, looking out onto an airshaft. The service was great and the staff was very helpful.The room was small but I guess thats part of the San Fran Character.It was a great hotel and experience for my wife and I on our Honeymoon. The only negative was the stree noise at night, we didn't sleep well at all. Although the views down the street were enjoyable it may be better to have a room not on the street.
