Die Ou Pastorie, dating back to 1819, is one of the oldest remaining buildings in Somerset West. Both the original building and erf were declared a National Monument in 1986. The main residence was converted into a restaurant in 1981, reconditioned in 1986 and in 1991 the first wing for guest accommodation was added. In 1996 an additional wing was added. The guest accommodation, set in the tranquil garden with rolling green lawns, swimming pool, gazebo and bubbly fountains, now boast sixteen bedrooms. The restaurant has now been transformed into a Modern Bistro, with a fresh, vibey atmosphere, more accessible to the general public, without making any concessions to the standards of quality in food and service.

The famous gardens of Die Ou Pastorie have been landscaped and offer an ideal venue for weddings and special events. Conferencing is available for a maximum of 12 people in the Boardroom. Whether you are looking for a venue to host your business conference, a break-away with your team, or a place for your special wedding day-we have ideal facilities available. Our restaurant, XO Modern Bistro can comfortably accommodate 60 guests. This number may be increased to 80 guests, divided over 4 connecting rooms. The Boardroom is a private venue, where conferencing for up to 12 guests can be hosted. The adjacent Library may be used as a break-away room or as a place to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea during the breaks.
